After the conclusion of Homestuck, Hussie began working on the development of a game taking place on Alternia, the alien home planet of the trolls within Homestuck. This game, Hiveswap, went on to have a lot of controversy based around its development team and the slow progress updates after a Kickstarter. Besides Hiveswap, more games have been released that feature characters or are connected to the Homestuck universe. These games are Pesterquest, Friendsim, and Namaco High all of which are visual novel dating sims where the player gets to befriend different characters.

The Homestuck trolls are all associated with zodiac signs, each of the characters wearing their sign on their shirt. With the release of Hiveswap and the reveal of more trolls, we were given the Extended Zodiac, complete with a personality quiz to determine your “True Sign”. This included determining one's aspect, a central component to the Homestuck characters and part the the gameplay of Sburb. On Topatoco, people can buy T-shirts and hoodies featuring their aspect (There being 12 aspects total) or T-shirts matching what the characters in Homestuck wear.

Since Homestuck begins in a world just like our own, there are many references within the comic to things that exist in our world. Some simpler examples include chess, suits in cards, and pool. More specific examples include Faygo, Insane Clown Posse, Betty Crocker, and Nicholas Cage.
Fans would often purchase or partake in things referenced in Homestuck as an inside joke.
