So you've been here a while, reading about Homestuck and its paratext. But if you've had your computer audio on, you would've been hearing music playing in the background! Now, this isn't any old music my dear reader, but music from the webcomic itself! Remember how I said Homestuck was multimedia? I'm talking about that now.

The Homestuck soundtrack features over 500 songs made by a variety of artists. While not all of the songs were featured in the 8,000 page epic, they still come together to add to the comic.

Besides the music that was made for the webcomic, people also wrote fansongs from the perspective of the different characters. One of the most notable of these artists is PhemieC, who still makes fandom related music to this day! PhemieC can be found on bandcamp, youtube and spotify.

In the early days of Homestuck, every action in the story was taken from a public forum post hosted on ms paint adventures. Most of the characters in Homestuck were named by the audience. This forced collaboration within the story led to Homestuck having many complex twists and turns and several pages dedicated to random bits. Later on in the story Andrew Hussie decided that the MSPA forum was not conducive to telling a complete story, so they took complete control and stopped taking input for actions.

Homestuck is also incredibly well known for its Flash animations and games! For a long long time (since the death of Flash at the end 2020) these important bits of Homestuck have been nonfunctional and relegated to recorded YouTube videos embedded in the home website. However as of 2025, Homestuck.com has undergone renovations to start making the games and animations playable in browser again! This is huge, as it allows for new fans and readers to get the full homestuck experience. The comic is periodically being updated with the flash emulator and will hopefully reach the end of the comic by the end of 2025
